About 40% of patients with plaque psoriasis will develop psoriatic arthritis (PsA). When not treated in a timely manner, PsA may lead to permanent joint damage. Most cases of PsA manifest initially through a skin component (PsO), making the dermatologist a key player in the early diagnosis and facilitator of adequate treatment of PsA. Early intensive systemic treatment has shown to induce treatment-free remission periods1,2.
During this lecture you will explore why your role as a dermatologist is so important for PsA.
